What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a modern healthcare model that cuts out the middleman — meaning no insurance billing — so you get a direct, personal relationship with me, your provider. Instead of paying per visit, you pay a simple monthly membership fee that covers a wide range of primary care and urgent care services. This model allows me to keep my patient panel small, which means more time with you, same or next-day appointments, and care that’s truly focused on you — not on rushing through a packed schedule driven by insurance reimbursements. DPC is a great fit for people who want unhurried, accessible, and affordable primary care, whether they’re uninsured, underinsured, or simply tired of feeling like a number in a traditional healthcare system. Do You See People Of all Ages?
Yes! As a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Susie provides care for patients of all ages and stages of life!
Do You Take Insurance?
I do not accept insurance or bill any insurance company directly — and that’s intentional. This freedom is what allows me to focus entirely on you, offering a more personal and unhurried experience than traditional practices. That said, insurance is still important for services outside the scope of primary care, such as specialist visits, hospitalizations, or advanced imaging. Many patients pair their DPC membership with a high-deductible health plan, sharing plan, or other coverage to create a well-rounded and often more affordable healthcare solution. You may also be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to offset costs — I recommend checking with your tax advisor or HR department to explore your options.
What if I want to cancel my membership?
Memberships are flexible and contract-free — cancel anytime with just 30 days’ notice. No obligations, no hassle.
Do You Share My information with Insurance Carriers or Government agencies?
Your privacy is one of the quiet but powerful benefits of the Direct Primary Care model. Because I don’t bill insurance, your medical records are never shared with insurance carriers or government agencies. I will only release your records if you specifically request it, or if I’m are legally compelled to do so through a subpoena or search warrant.
What is Spiritual Direction ?
Spiritual Direction is a contemplative practice shared between two people walking together in faith. As companions, we slow down to pay attention — noticing how the Spirit might be moving, speaking, or stirring, and what that means for everyday life, in seasons of joy and difficulty alike.
Through honest conversation, thoughtful questions, and listening — both to each other and to the Spirit — we explore desires, motivations, and responses. We celebrate what’s being discovered, sit with doubt and mystery, and reflect on what an authentic prayer life looks like in the middle of it all. Anyone with any background can take part in Spiritual Direction.
